The Old Photoshop

Having successfully traded for nearly eight years on eBay selling mainly second-hand books, vintage ephemera, and early 20th century magic lantern slides, I decided that 2009 was the right time to launch my own website.

As eBay member ‘mirexho’, I have always believed that next to the quality of the items I offer for sale, the most important factor in being successful is to provide a very high level of customer service. It is my intention to maintain these high levels of customer service in my new venture of selling high quality digital prints of vintage photographs from theoldphotoshop.co.uk.

For many years I have been accumulating ‘images from the past’. From single unframed photographs and brown envelopes stuffed full of negatives, to small wooden boxes containing glass plates and very large collections of magic lantern slides; all purchased from auctions, estate sales, antique fairs and car boot sales around the country.

Having lived and worked in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire for over 25 years I have inevitably picked up a lot of material that originates from the historic city of Lincoln and many of its surrounding towns and villages. However, I can also offer many hundreds of images from around the world, including those from a very large collection of lantern slides taken in the Far East in the early part of the 20th century, mainly in pre-revolutionary Japan, China and Hong Kong and in pre-Second World War Fiji, Australia and New Zealand.

I am always delighted to hear from anyone who would like to make constructive comments – good or bad – regarding the goods and services I have to offer, and would encourage customers and browsers alike to send any suggestions, criticism, or helpful information concerning any of the images advertised, to me via the Contact page on this website.
